Gardens By The Bay

The bf took a day off and we decided to go Gardens By the Bay.
The place was officially opened since 2011, but we didn't go there because Singaporeans being Singaporeans, will flood to any new attractions since there's simply nothing much to do in our small island.

Besides, even now, the garden is not fully done up yet.

We opt to see the garden (ok the two domes) itself and purchased the ticket at SGD18 each. There are many deals out that that combines GBTB with other attractions, like the SG Flyer, but they don't interest us so...
Anyway, buy your tickets online ok?
It's getting retarded to queue for tickets, buying online = fuss free. Why waste your time queuing? Don't make sense to me in this 21st IT century why such people still exists. Unless you last min decide to go okay lah, even then, you still can buy on your smartphones no?

But then again, if you would like to have GBTB + River Cruise for SGD29, you can buy the Groupon deal here

Back to our trip!
Took the advice of my ex-colleague, to go in the morning because the place is huge
by this I mean the two domes + other things outside. It was huge, plus with the SG sun it made the place impossibly huge because of the heat. Gahhhh!

Er but we had too much time on hand, so I will advice you guys to go after lunch instead.

Here's one random green Ah Meng outside the Domes

We took a walk outside before entering the Flower Dome for some aircon (since I paid for it alreadyyyyy). Flower dome, as the name suggests, has tons of flowers.

The place also have Xmas decorations, so we played a little :D

One random cactus with blooming (?) flowers

Wooden eagle

and then we went back to Marina Bay Shopping Centre for lunch.
By then I was so hungry, even the cactus looked delicious to me. Initially we (he) wanted to go Ding Tai Feng, but the crowd @.@ so we settled (yay!) for TCC instead.
Here's my Mentaiko Spaghetti with Salmon Tataki

And the delicious looking egg @.@

We decided to complete the trails outside the domes before heading to the Cloud Forest and we got awed by the (artificial) 30m tall waterfall.
while it was really cooling (cold) walking beside the waterfall, there was too much water splashing around and I didn't want my camera to get wet so I couldn't stand closer to it :(

and then we knew there would be night lights in the domes so we waited for like 3hours wts.

Ok so while we waited for the night lights, you must also wait before seeing the pictures :P
We brought Splash to the place too!
Sadly, it dropped while we were running away from the lightnings sigh.
Poor Splash from Australia.

Basically it rained in the afternoon (a little) so when it stopped we wanted to walk outside before seeing a flash of light striking the cloud forest right.in.front.of.our.eyes.
Of course we freaked out lah! It went on till the night and I must have dropped it, while running :(

So here's a picture tribute to Splash who may or may not be in the hands of a toddler, who may or may not be on its way to Semaukau island :(  you know, the landfill place.
byebye Splash :(

Our photos around the garden ^^

Okay night lights time~
again, because of the lightnings, we didn't dare to go up the supertrees.
Too many sins already, will tio struck lol.

and finally a last waterfall shot

Totally enjoyed myself because there wasn't much crowd in the garden (except towards evening).
Everyone's probably squeezing at RWS aquarium.
I mean, I would love to visit the place if it is like this:

but this is the real thing (puke)

so GBTB is the way to go if you want a less crowded attraction.

If botanic garden is getting a little too crowded/noisy for your comfort
and if the Henderson wave is too hot for you, why not try GBTB because you can always go into airconditioned places anytime.

Oh yes, the best thing is, you can have unlimited re-entry into each Dome for a day. Whoopee~

I don't really liked that the shelters/ resting places outside do not have fans. I mean you can put solar cells above these shelter points (or the bigger ones) and use it to power fans ma.
YOU KNOW HOW HOT IT WAS DESPITE THE RAIN?
so I think, the free gardens can be a little more friendly. Just because it is free doesn't mean we should deprive the public from these amenities, it's not like we are asking for a swimming pool or something -,-

Lastly, the dome can get a little chilly at times, so do remember to bring a light cardigan!
For more information, visit the GBTB website!
Here's the link to alllllllll the discounts available.
