To Watch Or Not To Watch

11:28 PM
With the trains going at all time slow thanks to some cracks, some faults, some god knows what (SMRT has a new excuse every single time a delay happens), my travelling time to work have increased from 35-40mins to about 45-50mins. This essentially means that I have sufficient time to finish one episode of a drama or at least 80% of it in one train ride.

Of course I could read a book.
But as penniless as I am, I can scarcely afford ebooks nor books (which takes up a lot of space btw).
So, the poor me have to turn to dramas.

COME ON WHO AM I KIDDING LOL.
but first, before I introduce the app of the day/week/month,
here's a picture to show you how appalling the SMRT system became after they started the free transport trial for early birds.

Beautiful isn't it?
I am already kinda upstream (in terms of the train stations to the City) and I can't even board the train, makes you wonder who on earth could, in the subsequent stations.

Anyway! Before I burst my blood vessels...
I used to watch shows on

before I go any further, this post is for people who understand Chinese, because the whole app is in Chinese.

Given the ultra slow/ non-existent 3G + evil telcoms firms limiting free mobile data to 2G (at the same price to consumers), streaming shows on train is virtually impossible.
So PPS offers a download service where you can pre-download your shows at home whoopee!

Download speed is also reasonably fast so you will at least have 2-3 episodes in your phone.

But then I discovered Funshion and I never went back lol.
the key reason is because Funshion has more up to date shows than PPS.
all other features though, remains the same (download speed, interface etc).

PPS is utterly useless if you want to watch English movies, and since I am a fan of Korean shows, the latest dramas are ALWAYS. NOT. ON. PPS.
@#%$#^%$#^
sometimes, the quality of the shows appear to be better than those English-subbed websites
(okok, because the phone size is small)
but more importantly, the shows are released faster than Eng-subbed websites.
Whoopee!

Actually I think most SG peeps would already have this app in their phone, so I am not quite sure who am I typing this for lol.
The apps are absolutely free (oh joy!) so be sure to download them if you need to waste time (e.g. on board a budget airplane).

  1. FYI, you can download free ebooks using the Nook or Kindle app on your cell phone. Search for free ebooks and find a few that you enjoy. I have read some great books this year that were free.
