Pore Concerns? Use Black Paint Series!
Advertorial
A couple of weeks back I was sent this pore care series by Black Paint. Japanese companies doing what they do best, providing such nice packaging for their products. They have four products in their pore care series namely:
1a) Black Paint soup (the one with the red rose)/ $49.90
1b) Black Konjac Sponge/ $14.90
2) Best Water toner/ $59.90
3) Oil Water Rose Lotion/ $49.90
4) Water Cream/ $79.90
The whole range is organic and was started thanks to the founder, Miyuki Maeda's love for her daughter and her research subsequently cured her daughter of kidney disease. How does this leads to Black Paint? Through the research, the founder understood that some bacteria help to maintain our skin pH etc and instead of killing those bacteria, the Black Paint range seeks to help the bacteria 'do their job'
The first step is to use the Black Paint soap which helped to cleanse our pores without stripping away the essential moisture from our skin. In addition to coal (which gives the soap the colour), there contains 23 types of natural products. For lavender lovers, you can immediately smell the lavender scent from the soap.
We were suppose to soak the whole soap in warm water and spread it on our faces. Remember to use all six surfaces to keep the shape of the soap and store it in a dry place!
Also a fair note of warning: you maybe get some breakouts in the initial days of usage.
Not sure if it was due to the bodily cycle, but I did have a couple of pimples popping out after use, but they were gone fairly quickly.
I liked that the cleansing was very thoroughly and there's no sticky or 'oily' after feel. However, it can be really stinging to the eyes, so please be careful while using it around the eye region.
Next up is the Konjac Sponge which helps to exfoliate the skin. As the colour suggests it contains coal as well.
2) Best Water toner
The tone contains over 30 types of natural minerals that help to hydrate the skin as well as minimise pores. I love this toner because it gets absorbed real quickly regardless of whether you use pads or just by patting by your hands. You can also use this as a facial mask too!
3) Oil Water Rose Lotion
I am half apprehensive and half happy about using this product. Apprehensive because it contains oil but happy because of the rose scent. I don't really like the smell of lavender, so having this rose- scented lotion makes me really happy. The only downside is you have to kept on shaking the bottle in order to ensure a good mix. Depsite the oil, the product was quickly absorbed with no sticky after feel. It contains anti-inflammatory properties to reduce redness and helps to tighten pores as well
4) Water Cream
Finally the water cream helps to lock in the moisture and can act as a protective veil between our skin and makeup. Again this is lavender-scented, so not a favourite for me. Similar to Bioessence sleeping mask, water droplets will surface when we rub the cream into our skin which is fun and there is also a small spoon provided for you to scoop out the product.
However, I find this too heavy to use during the day before the application of makeup. I can definitely feel the layer of this gel-cream like sensation on the face so instead I apply it before I sleep.
