너의 목소리가 들려 - I hear your voice/ 학교 2013 - School 2013 [spoilers ahead!]

As promised in the previous entry (like I ever keep my promises much lol), here's the review 너의 목소리가 들려 ( I Hear Your Voice)!!

Initially I didn't want to watch the show because it doesn't sound like an exciting show based on the title. Then I saw in a magazine that the dual is acting together again! So I got a wee bit excited. If you don't know the dual it is..

Lee Jong Suk

and

Yoon Sang Hyun

in Secret Garden, where YSH wanted LJS to be his disciple. It was later revealed that LJS loved YSH lol. Anyways, so LJS shot to fame after Secret Garden and yes he was one of the main leads for School 2013 (just realised I totally didn't review that show >.<) as well.

Back to this show

Synopsis

A thriller courtroom drama with fantasy and romantic comedy elements. It will depict the story of Jang Hye Sung (Lee Bo Young), a bold, sassy, thick-faced, comical, and materialistic public defender who becomes a lawyer after overcoming poverty and painful memories from her childhood, comes to realizations about society and justice after meeting Park Soo Ha (Lee Jong Suk), a 19-year-old boy who reads other people’s thoughts and Cha Kwan Woo (Yoon Sang Hyun), an innocent lawyer who lives a disciplined life.

Jang Hye Sung is actually Soo Ha's first love after she gave a decisive testimony on his father's murder case 10 years ago and Soo Ha promised to protect her from the killer's threats. Meanwhile, Cha Kwan Woo is Jang Hye Sung's fellow lawyer who is a cheerful and idealistic former cop even though his character a bit slow, he is nice and pleasant with a firm idea of his principles and justice. Together they will team up to to find the justice in the courtroom and solve the toughest cases with less than 1% chance of winning.

To say 1% chance of winning is a little pushing it. Unlike other crime/medical shows, the cases given to these public defenders were not exactly difficult to solve and miracles tend to happen at the last minute to make the case more solvable.

Anyway, the highlight of the show was obviously not about lawsuits, but about this siao ding dong guy who was bent on revenge. So yes, without this crazy guy, this show wouldn't have happened.

After finishing the show, I have kind of forgotten what had intrigued me to keep on watching each episode. The show started off with tense and exciting scenes showing how the revenge came about, and the relationships between the leads.

LJS's acting has improved by a lot, with some of his expressions looking very real, and at other times almost child-like which was highly appropriate considering his adoration/respect for Lee Bo Young since young (in the show). Still don't really like how he went completely berserk at times because it doesn't feel like he love LBY but... like how a dog will fiercely protect its owner :X

The LJS-LBY couple was clearly 'awwwww'.
but the age group like abittt too far off.
LJS is born in 1989, LBY is born in 1979 leh!
Yoon Sang Hyun is born in 1973 - more appropriate to be a couple with LBY I feel.
It also feels a little wrong that LJS and YSH are vying for the same woman given their 10+ age difference.

The show is nice initially, as I said because of all the tense situations. However, it became a little blah at the back when the siao ding dong villain turned subdued and tried to gain sympathy from the audience. He came across as a very very lost and confused soul, a stark contrast from his siao ding dong acts initially.

Of course given the above picture, the drama had a happy ending, which was kind of unnecessary. Some happy endings are necessary because they conclude the whole show, but for this show it has already been concluded the moment the siao ding dong became normal lol.

Oh oh, there's a little funny scene with YSH inside and a cameo from one of the actors from Gentlemen's Dignity (a show which I didn't finish), do open your eyes big lol

Soooo watch this show if you want some actions/ excitement, but it is perfectly fine if you don't finish it because the plot is kind of expected!
P/S LJS sure loves his headphones a lot lol.

Since I didn't review about 학교 2013 (School 2013), I might as well do a short write up here as well (kinda forgotten most part of it).

Synopsis

This series is an update to the famed 'School Series' which aired from 1999 to 2002. It will focus on portraying realistic issues, struggles and dilemmas of today’s youths.

Story about Seungri high, a troublesome school that houses students from the most eligible to the most problematic. 'School 2013' shows different life stories of teachers and students as they grow up through conflicts and compromises.

ooo, I didn't know it was an 'update'
Anyway, this is a very typical school plot which most people would have experienced at least once in their school life, possibly secondary school. Most of us would have been classmates with these pai kia (bad kids lol), and we either try to ignore their presence or stand up to them occasionally. Of course these pai kias don't always belong to the same gang, and a 'turf war' usually ensues.

Of course for school series such as these, they usually want to depict a successful education system, where teachers inspired good changes in kids etc etc, so you can expect to see such evolution. Please don't be too inspired by the show though, some kids are simply rotten these days.

I don't understand why LJS is into guys you know lol. In this show, Kim Woo Bin is his best friend turned enemy and then BFFs but some acts are more gay than buddy buddy you know?

YOU SEE YOU SEE?! lolol

anyway, they are also best friends in reality, so this is kind of cool!
Watch this show if you miss your school life, it's full of little moments, you know those moments that we thought we will die from but still survived so well until now bahahaha.
